I’m Lucie Woods, a newborn photographer based in Rawtenstall with nearly 10 years of experience of helping families around the north-west capture beautiful pictures of their little ones.

When we found out we were expecting our first baby we just knew we would want to capture his first precious moments and wanted to find the perfect person to do this. From my first phone call with Lucie, I just knew she was the right person. We had a great conversation and I felt like I had known her for so long!
We had a great time at Lucie’s studio. We were welcomed with the most beautiful set-up, including some delicious goodies, and we just sat back as Lucie worked her magic - I watched in amazement as Lucie rocked Jesse until he fell asleep and then moved him so gently into such beautiful poses in order to capture such amazing detail which we will always be able to look back on.
We had a beautiful photo reveal session too in which we were bursting with pride to see our baby boy and the photos brought tears to my eyes.

More information about my photography
All of my photoshoots take place in my cosy studio, just off the M66 in Rawtenstall. It’s really easy to get to from anywhere in Manchester or Lancashire and I’ve had clients coming to me from as far as Liverpool and Blackpool.
As well as newborn photos I offer bump-to-baby packages, cake smashes, sitter sessions and simple birthday photoshoots. All the details are in the pricing and sessions pages of my website or follow the links below.
I only take a limited number of bookings each month. This is because I value quality over quantity and want to give you a unique exeperience that is worth the time and money you invest in your newborn photography.

It is an experience not just a photoshoot
I pride myself with the experience I offer my clients. This starts the moment you make contact with me and start preparing for your newborn session. I want the whole process of getting your newborn photos to be as enjoyable as possible. I help you prepare to take the worry out of travelling to my studio.
Once here there are comfy sofas to relax on, snacks and drinks and a chance to unwind as I take care of your baby for a few hours.
After your photoshoot you’ll return to my studio at a convenient time for a relaxed reveal session where you see your pictures for the first time - tissues at the ready! - and choose which collection you’d like to invest in. There’s no upselling from me and no pressure to buy anything you can’t afford.
Trust an expert, invest in quality
I’ve been perfecting my art for year and the proof is in the quality of my photos, which will stand the test of time. The editing for each newborn session takes at least a day as I remove blemishes, snot marks and all sorts of things like that. There are plenty of photographers out there but they don’t all offer the same skill and eye for detail.
And the qualify of my albums and wall art is something I’m really proud of too. My albums are hand-wrapped at a small specialist studio and designed to order by me - there’s a huge difference between the gorgeous thick pages of these albums and something you’d get off photobox.
My wall art is made to order and you’ll especially love my reclaimed-wood frames. Made my a local craftsman, each one is unique.
It doesn’t end with newborn photos
